I adapted this recipe from one that I found on Pinterest from The Cozy Cook.

1 lb Jimmy Deans hot sausage
1 medium yellow onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 Teaspoons Italian seasoning
1/8 Teaspoon Cayenne
1 Teaspoon hot sauce ( I used tapatio)
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
5 Cups Chicken Broth
2 Cups refrigerated tortellini
2 Cups chopped kale
Splash of heavy cream to taste
Salt and pepper to taste

*Please have the garlic, flour, Italian seasoning, cayenne, hot sauce, and ground mustard prepared to be added all at once.

Start with adding the sausage to the chef's pan and pressing down into an even layer. Add salt and pepper to taste. Place uncovered on the top shelf and hit start.

Brava will pause after 10 minutes and prompt you to add the onion. Stir to combine. Place uncovered into the brava and press start again. Prepare the ingredients for the next step if you have not done so already.

Brava will pause after 5 minutes and prompt you to add the seasonings, flour, garlic, and hot sauce all at once. Stir for 1 minute until well combined, using the residual heat in the pan from the last sear. After ingredients are well combined, add the chicken broth slowly, scraping the sides and bottom of the pan with a heat safe rubber spatula as you go. Cover chef's pan with lid and place in top shelf of brava. Hit start.

Brava will pause after 30 minutes and prompt you to add the tortellini and the kale. Please add the tortellini carefully as it could splash. Make sure that the kale is submerged as best as you can. Cover chef's pan with lid and place in top shelf of brava. Hit start.

Cook will be complete after 10 minutes. Add a splash of cream if desired.
