Crème Brûlée Oatmeal

About this Custom Cook

Ingredients:
4 cups of boiling water
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
Fresh fruit (optional)

Coat inside of Brava Chef's Pot with cooking spray
Pour boiling water into Brava Chef's Pot; stir in oats and salt

Combine egg yolks and sugar in medium bowl; mix well.

Heat cream and vanilla in medium saucepan over medium heat until bubbles form around edge; do NOT boil. Remove from heat.

Pour 1/2 coup of hot cream (in a thin stream) into egg and sugar mixture, whisking constantly.

Whisk egg mixture back into cream in saucepan.

Spoon mixture over top of oatmeal (DO NOT STIR)

Lay two paper towels over top of Chef's Pot; then put on lid.

Slow cook for 3 to 3 1/2 hours or until custard sets

Sprinkle brown sugar over top of custard and slow cook for another 10 minutes (or until sugar melts). Leave paper towels in place.

Serve with fresh fruit, if desired.
