Mexican Pizza Tortilla for 1 serving. (1-2 Pizzas)
--Tortilla used instead of a taco shell. Just as crispy.
Ingredients:
2 or 4 of the 6" wide Tortillas (a)
OR
2 of the 9" wide Tortillas (b)
Butter
Olive Oil
Black Beans (Mushed to paste)
Ground Beef (Taco seasoned)
Diced Tomato (Drained)
Shredded Cheese (Mexican is best flavor)
Black Olives Sliced (Optional)
Green Onion Chopped (Optional)
Brava Equipment:
Metal Tray
Directions:
1. Spread a light coating of butter over all 3 zones of the metal tray.
2a. Place 1-2 of the 6" tortillas onto the tray separated. (1st on one side/half of the tray, 2nd on other half/side.) If the tortillas overlap onto each other slightly, that is alright.
2b. Place 1 of the 9" tortillas centered on the tray.
3. Add a brushing of olive oil to the whole top of the tortilla(s). Light layer.
4. Drain black beans and then mush to a paste. Add black bean paste and ground beef to the top of the first (lower layer) tortilla and spread evenly across surface.
5a. Add the top 6" tortillas onto the top of the first tortillas on the tray and brush with a light layer of olive oil.
5b. Add the top 9" tortilla onto the top of the first tortilla on the tray and brush with a light layer of olive oil.
6. Add the diced tomato to the top of the tortilla(s) and spread evenly.
7. Add shredded cheese to the top of the tomatoes and spread evenly.
8. Place metal tray in lower rack of oven. (IT IS THE LOWER RACK TO PREVENT BURNING TOPPINGS)
9. Press Button to Cook.
10. When oven alerts...depending on how crispy you like the shell (tortillas) you may need to sear top and bottom for an additional 1-2 minutes. Just select more cook time at the end.
11. Once done...remove and add green onion pieces (chopped) and/or black olives (sliced) to the top. (Optional)
12. Plate food.
Enjoy
More Breakdown of Information:
If you want to make the smaller pizza then use the smaller tortillas, if you want to make the large pizza, then use the large tortillas.
Each pizza will have a total of two tortillas per pizza.
A metal tray can handle up to two of the small pizzas side by side or only one large pizza in the center.
I placed a letter (a) OR (b) next to the smaller or larger tortilla so when you decide to use the smaller tortilla you follow the receipe with the letter (a), as an example.
Receipe is detailed as it encompasses two different size versions, but still the same steps regardless.
Either in small version pizzas or large version pizza the layers are the same.
From bottom up......Metal Tray -> Butter -> Tortilla (oil on top) -> beans and meat -> 2nd tortilla (oil on top) -> Cheese -> toppings.
Cook
When done....Add Green Onion and Black Olives on top.
