Grilled Ham and Cheese

by Brava Chef Travis

About this Recipe

Is there a more iconic diner sandwich than a grilled ham and cheese? It’s a classic for a reason! Crispy sourdough bread, gooey melted cheddar and smoky ham are a winning flavor combination that NEVER gets old. If you’re not a fan of cheddar, feel free to use any cheese you like. A thin layer of mayonnaise on the outside helps the sandwich crisp to perfection. Don’t skip the softened butter on the inside—it’s a key component of the flavor! This sandwich is best made with large slices of high-quality sourdough bread, but you’ll only be able to fit 2 sandwiches on the tray. We recommend using square sliced sourdough sandwich bread if you want to make 3 or 4 sandwiches.
